Occlusal Equilibration/Bite Adjustment
Our dentists like to check the bite of all of our patients. This is regularly done in all of our Comprehensive Oral Exams as well as for patients who exhibit symptoms of bite problems (please refer to our page on Night guards and Deprogrammers).
Occlusal equilibration involves minor reshaping of the teeth to allow them to fit together correctly when the jaw joint is seated completely in the socket. This allows the muscles to relax and can very often alleviate or even eliminate pain and sensitivity in teeth and/or the TMJ within hours to days of adjustment.
